Name: Umar Ibrahim Jauro
I am writing to express my interest in joining the GoodDollar Governance Steering Committee. I am an active member of the GoodDollar ecosystem, currently serving as a Community Moderator with the GIMT Team. Over the past several years, I have been deeply engaged with the GoodDollar community, both as a participant and as a contributor:
Contributions History:
Active Community Member since 2021: Consistently engaged in discussions, supported campaigns, and contributed ideas that drive growth and inclusion in the ecosystem.
Community Moderation: Helping answer questions, welcoming and guiding new members, addressing concerns, and supporting initiatives that enhance clarity, trust, and engagement.
Community Education & Initiatives: Creating content, leading discussions, and encouraging members to better understand the protocol and ecosystem.
Understanding of the Protocol: Through hands on engagement, I’ve built strong knowledge of the GoodDollar protocol, its values, and the unique community driven structure it fosters.
Why I Want to Serve on the Steering Committee:
The community is the lifeblood of the GoodDollar project, and moderators who interact directly with members every day will play a vital role in shaping the future of governance. We are uniquely positioned to surface feedback, highlight challenges, and channel fresh ideas into actionable proposals.
If selected, I will:
-
Advocate for transparent, inclusive, and accessible processes that empower grassroots members to participate meaningfully in governance.
-
Strengthen the communication bridge between governance and the wider community, ensuring clarity and trust.
-
Contribute to shaping clear guidelines and processes that make governance easier to navigate for newcomers and experienced members alike.
-
Help identify challenges early and channel community feedback into constructive proposals.
Bandwidth: I am able to dedicate 4–5 hours per week to committee responsibilities, including meetings, planning, reviews, and outreach.
Thank you!
